Bread of Life Bakery - Infants
The loving caregivers in the infant room strive to work with each child individually to learn daily schedules, routines, and preferences. Ratio is 1:5 with a maximum of 15 infants. Infants will be cared for according to their own daily schedules. Feeding and sleeping will be provided on-demand and in consultation with parents. During the day the following activities will be included…
* Talking to children, holding conversations with children
* Reading books to children
* Singing to children
* Moving to music
* Tummy time
* Interaction on floor gyms, in exersaucers, or in jumpers
* Reaching, grabbing, following toys, reflection activities
* Fine motor development (stacking blocks, sensory activities)
* Large motor development (learning to sit, rolling over, stand,)
Diapers are checked hourly (when children are awake), and changed as needed.

Milk and Honey Ice Cream Parlor – Young Toddlers
The young toddler room introduces children to routine and schedule, while still understanding the need for flexibility. Children in this room are between the ages of 14 and 24 months. Verbal and non-verbal (sign-language) is a primary focus in this room. Secondary focuses would be beginning color, shape, animal, and food recognition. Ratio is 1:5 with a maximum of 20 children.

Diapers/Pull-ups will be checked hourly, toilet use will be promoted by hourly attempts for those potty training. Diapers are changed as needed.
Christian Soldiers Toy Store – Toddlers
The toddler room is for children 2 years old. Much like the young toddler room, the children have a schedule and routine. Communication skills are rapidly growing at this stage so this is a primary focus as well. Children continue to learn their colors, shapes, animals, and food as well as begin to follow basic instructions, turn-taking, sharing, and potty training. Ratio is 1:5 with a maximum of 20 children.

The Good Book Bookstore – 3 Year Preschool
The Good Book Bookstore is our preschool classroom for three-year-old children. Social skills, beginning letter recognition, beginning phonics, early number recognition and comprehension, math and science exploration, and spiritual growth are just a few of the areas of growth we focus on in our preschool classrooms. The following is a list of Kindergarten readiness goals we’d like our children to meet before heading off to Kindergarten, either at Good Shepherd Lutheran Elementary School or elsewhere. This list was created in collaboration between Good Shepherd’s Kindergarten Teacher, Prekindergarten Lead Teacher, and the ECC Curriculum Director. Keep in mind these are goals, not requirements, and fun and learning are not limited to these goals. Teachers simply plan lessons, projects, and activities with these goals in mind. Feel free to work on these at home with your children as well!
Academic Goals
*Be able to state first and last name verbally
*Be able to write first name with the first letter upper case and the remaining letters lower case
*Grasp pencil correctly (three-finger grasp)
*Recognize the letters in the child’s name
*Recognize basic geometric shapes (circle, square, triangle, rectangle)
*Recognize basic colors (Roy G Biv, black, white, brown)
*Identify numeral 1-10 in random order
*Use fingers to touch count items (1-10)
*Know concepts of print (front and back of book, which page comes first, track words left to right, title)
*Recognize rhyming of simple words
*Retell stories in sequence (first, next, last)
Social Goals
*Adjust own clothing
*Use restroom independently (wash and dry hands with out reminders)
*Sit still for 10 minutes (story/circle time)
*Clean up after themselves (toys, crafts, mess on body)
*Share and take turns
*Changing a negative attitude to a positive attitude
*Be able to listen to and follow 2-3 step directions
*Be able to solve problems/conflicts with words (working on eliminating any aggression or violence)
*Volume of voice (control- quiet, medium, loud, too loud)
*Keeping hands to yourself
*Walking with scissors in a safe manner (scissors closed by your side)
*Walking in the hallways

Zacchaeus Treehouse – 5 Year Prekindergarten
Zacchaeus Treehouse is our classroom for five-year-olds. Many children in this classroom are heading to Kindergarten in the next school year. Highlights include furthering social skills, letter recognition, phonics, number recognition and comprehension, math and science exploration, spiritual growth, and getting the children excited for Kindergarten.
